CAFOD Live Simply Award
We are proud to tell you that our CAFOD Live Simply Award action plan has been accepted and we are now on our journey to achieve the award.
Please look out in the newsletter for updates on how you can support us with this.
The Live Simply award is earned by communities and schools who can show how they have been living:
- in solidarity with people in poverty
- sustainably with creation.
The award will celebrate what we already do and will inspire us to do more. It will help our community to live, not just more simply, but also more fully.
STEWARDS OF GODS CREATION - ECO COUNCIL
Our Year 2 Eco Council visited the Gillmoss Recycling Centre to learn all about how if we recycle, we can make a positive impact on God's wonderful world. The Eco team have spread this message throughout the school and distributed recycling bins to every class.
CAFOD Assemblies and Workshops
The Three Little Pigs Assembly
All children in Reception, year 1 and year 2 have enjoyed this interactive assembly using the story of The Three Little Pigs to help the children understand how CAFOD helps communities worldwide, to rebuild their lives after an emergency has happened.
The children all listened beautifully and engaged well during the assemblies.
As Easy as CST - Catholic Social Teaching Workshops
The children have enjoyed and actively taken part in workshops to introduce pupils to Catholic Social Teaching and help them to understand how it underpins the work we do to make the world a better place.
The children met a variety of animal characters and their stories helped them learn in a fun and engaging way about the different principles and how to put them into action.
Thank you to the CAFOD volunteers for visiting our school and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
