Loving, learning, growing together with Jesus

Monday 2nd November

Good morning everyone!

I hope you have all had a lovely half term and a well-deserved rest. Sadly the weather doesn’t look great today but hopefully it might be dry later on in the week for you to spend some time in your gardens.

The work that I set on the website each day will mirror, as closely as possible, the work that we would cover in class to help to ensure learning continuity.

Letters and Sounds

Have a go at Dragons Den on PhonicsPlay. Remember to choose Phase 4. Can you sound out and blend each of the words and work out if they are real words or alien (made up) words?

https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/4/dragons-den

Then join in with our tricky words song. Can you try and spell each of the words?

English

We are continuing with our work on Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson this week. Here is the story for you to watch. Can you follow along with the rhyming parts of the story?

Have a look at the pictures below. Can you sound out and write what each picture is of? Think of a sentence to write about each of the pictures with capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

Maths

This week we will be looking at adding together two numbers using our knowledge of number bonds. You may want to use objects (eg: pieces of pasta, toy figures, coins) to help support with completing todays work.

We can compare different amounts made by adding two numbers together. We know that 3 + 2 = 5. Can you think of any other numbers that add up to 5?

How do we know?

We can add up each number sentence below and find the corresponding number sentence with the same total. Can you match the number sentences to its pair?

Have a look at the worksheet below. Can you find the total of each number sentence and match it to its pair?

Come and See

We are continuing our come and see topic of Belonging this half term and will be looking at different elements of Baptism.

Can you draw a picture of a Baptism? Can you show some of the people and the elements used? Think about the baptismal candle, the white garment and the font. Who would we see there? Can you label the different parts of the picture?

If you have any questions about the work provided, please reply to the email that I have sent and I will reply to you as soon as I can. If you haven't received an email from me, please contact the office via email.

I am missing you all and although it is strange not being able to work in class at the moment I am looking forward to seeing you again very soon.

Please email any of your fantastic work that you would like to share. It will be lovely to see what you are getting up to at home. Have a great day, everyone.

Love from Mr Nolan
