Loving, learning, growing together with Jesus
To our dear Nursery children,
We have reached the final week of the school year. We will miss you all and we know that you’ll all be fantastic in September, whichever class you are going into. You are all superstars!
A prayer for the end of term
You have blessed us in our relationship with you
and with our friends.
Our school has shared many things this past year.
We were linked by common tasks and time together.
This week we say goodbye and end our school year.
This is a time of uncertainty but we give praise and thanks.
Lord bless our students, teachers and staff,
especially those we will not see again.
Keep each of us in your care in the summer holidays.
Guide our steps and strengthen our hearts,
until we gather once again as a school family.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Here are some Summer themed ideas for keeping busy…
Listen carefully to the animated story ‘The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch’ by Ronda and David Armitage.
Do you know why we have lighthouses? Maybe you could visit Hale lighthouse which is not far from Liverpool airport. It is a real lighthouse.
Play a phonics game, match the sounds to the correct animal. https://www.phonicsbloom.com/uk/game/match-sounds?phase=1
Practice writing your name, remember your name always starts with a capital letter but not all of the letters are capital letters, only the first one.
Make a pinwheel to put outside. Download a template and cut it out, then follow the instructions to construct it.
Knowledge and understanding of the world
When you are playing outside have a look at your shadow. Is it as big as you or smaller? Does it move when you move or does it stay still? We can create shadow drawings. Put a piece of paper outside on the ground and place some of your toys on the paper, look at the shadows and draw around the outside of them. Dinosaurs work really well!
Look at the picture of a busy beach at Summer time. Imagine what it would be like if you were there. Make a wish about somewhere you would like to go on holiday and describe it to your adult.
We would like to say a great big thank you to parents and carers for all your support this year and to all the lovely children, our Class of 2020, thanks for the wonderful memories and good luck in your next steps! You are all stars!
Have a wonderful, safe, happy and healthy summer break.
Love from all the teachers.
